The Eid holiday has given the box office a good lift with both Baadshaho and Shubh Mangal Saavdhan recording good collections. It does not mean much as its a national holiday and the real tests are to come but at least the films have shown good growth. Baadshaho is looking at collections of 13.50 crore nett as per early estimates which is 35% growth and it was needed. Anything under 30% and this film would have been in trouble considering its a big holiday. The film has shown good growth all over be it multiplexes and single screens but it is the holiday affect. The collections could even go higher in the morning as collections from smaller centres of Gujarat and Maharashtra come in. These could have more growth due to Eid. The two day total of the film will be around 23.50 crore nett.
Shubh Mangal Saavdhan has shown huge growth as the film will more than double up its collections to around 5.50 crore nett. The growth is phenomenal but some of that growth is because of the holiday factor. The film has comfortably scored over Bareilly Ki Barfi over the first two days and is already close to 2 crore nett ahead in just two days. The two day figures will be around 8 crore nett but still its about the weekdays as even if the weekend comes out at 13 crore nett ans that is better than Bareilly Ki Barfi and even Hindi Medium but its what happens after the weekend which make or break these type of films.
