Baadshaho had a fair number on day one at around 10 crore nett apprx. Its a fair number but being an action film it should have done a bit more. The plus for the film is that it is a national holiday tomorrow for Eid which should enable growth. This could have been hard on a normal Saturday as being an action film that Saturday crowd in metros would have been less. The film has decent collections in multiplexes and single screens in B and C centres while A centres are ordinary and the metros low. It will be all about the A centres and these are the key for the film. If they can improve well on Saturday and hold on Sunday, the film could have a chance. The opening day will probably turn out to be the eighth highest of the year. The film grossed $150,000 in Gulf on day one which is a decent number compared to other Ajay Devgn starrers.
The other release of the week Shubh Mangal Saavdhan is heading for a 2.50 crore nett opening day which is a poor return from 1400 odd screens (Bareily Ki Barfi was 2.12 crore nett on 1000 screens) but it is about the weekdays numbers for this film assuming the weekend growth is there which does normally come for these films and it is a holiday weekend to help that further. The problem for the film is a similar film Bareilly Ki Barfi released a few weeks ago and on top it has the same actor and these films hardly get footfalls as it is so two in three weeks could be a bit too much for the audience.
