The big release of the week is Baadshaho which has a good Hindi film look about it and rustic characters with the problem probably being its a heist film. The look and characters are a huge plus for many circuits but its in these circuits that films generally work on emotion and in a heist film it will take some very good writing to get the emotion part correct. The concept of heist has not really worked much in India, even a big star cast film like Khakee a decade or so back could not do the business despite being a very well made film. This film may not be comparable in terms of cast but it is on similar lines in terms of genre. 

The film has another plus of a super hit song with Mere Rashke Qamar and it is Bakri Eid over Friday and Saturday which should help collections. So basically the film has many plusses but also one big negative hanging over and it remains to be seen if the plusses can overturn the negative. Baddshaho is a mass action film so the first day has to do well as an upturn for these films is tough. The business in the multiplexes of A centres like Jaipur, Lucknow, Ludhiana etc is crucial as if the film works in these then it will work irrespective of how the metros fare. The single screens in these cities are likely to open but its the multiplexes in these cities which is the key for Baadshaho.

The other release is Shubh Mangal Saavdhan which is on the lines of Bareilly Ki Barfi but is more of a concept film than that one which was a general rom-com film. The film has no face value so the opening is not happenning but if the film is liked by the target audience then it has chances of going past Bareilly Ki Barfi as being a concept film the metro business can easily exceed Bareilly Ki Barfi.
