Tubelight has made it to the 200 crore worldwide mark in ten days as it has India GROSS of 152 crore and $7.4 million (48 crore) in Overseas but this is a total the film should have done in four days an not ten days. The last time a Salman Khan film under performed it was Jai Ho which did 186 crore worldwide but that was in 2014 and it was not an Eid release. Tubelight is looking at a a close of 210-215 crore worldwide which would make it 31 films above 200 crore worldwide. But when a film like Bahubali - The conclusion is doing a record 800 crore worldwide in just the Hindi language then 200 is nothing for a big star film.

The worldwide business of Tubelight will be in the same range as films like Airlift (2016), Jab Tak Hai Jaan (2012), Rustom (2016) and Singham Returns (2014). It will fall short of all Salman Khan eid releases since Wanted which was 93 cr worldwide but at that time Salman Khan did not have an image of a macho action star which came post Dabangg in 2010.

Its a coincidence that its this image which is probably one of the reasons for the downfall of Tubelight. This was not the only reason for the failure of the film but if an actor without a strong image was in the film then it may not have crashed the way it has as the audience may have found it easier to identify with the character.
