Badrinath Ki Dulhania is course to being a HIT film as the film showed good growth of around 20% on its second day. The second day business will be around 14.25 crore nett which will take the film to around 26.25 crore nett for two days. The film had huge growth in East Punjab as it recovered ground from low first day number and in other places the growth was generally good though markets like Rajasthan and Gujarat which will eventually decide how far this film will go showed less growth. These markets are important as there are some markets like North which will score and others like West Bengal and Nizam / Andhra which won't and the likes of Gujarat and Rajasthan can go either way.
The film is hitting Holi period over the few days which should give good collections barring on Monday morning though the rest of the day should make up for it. If the film does well over this holiday period and then sustains it even has chances of becoming the biggest hit of 2017 as the competition it has to face in terms of releases is not very strong and this can give the film a prolonges run. The highest grossing films of Varun Dhawan (outside Dilwale) and Alia Bhatt which are ABCD 2 and 2 States both stand at around the 102-103 crore nett mark and this film can challenge those figures.
The March period may not be good for such a youth love story in terms of potential to collect but the plus is a lack of competition as far as big films go in the next few weeks which could allow the film to sustain well if it gets the appreciation.
