Kaabil has remained below the mark through its extended nine day first week ending with collections of 67 crore nett apprx. More than the collections of the film it is the poor trend of the film which has caused the failure of the film. The film opened low and although it made huge gains on the next day as it was a national holiday for Republic Day it was back down to low levels the day after. Then on Monday the film went down further and went through the weekdays with low occupancy which does not go well for week two. The film has been affected by Raees but the low numbers on the weekdays also tells the film has also not been accepted as with a clash you cant get the sort audience over the weekend as with a solo release which leaves more potential for the weekday business but here the weekdays were worse than the weekend.

There was an issue with screens in the first week as Raees did get more but now that is not much of a case now as Kaabil has not even held its 2500 screens of week one with a reduction of 25% screens as multiplexes across India reduce shows. Not only Kaabil but Raees also saw a reductions of shows as that has also not lived up to expectations. Kaabil will find it hard to put up decent numbers in the second week, there should be the usual big second weekend jump on Saturday and Sunday but around that the collections will be low. The only plus will be is that it will be able to compete better with Raees in week two and even go up on it as both films will probably be in the same range in week two. The lifetime business of the film is probably heading to around 85 crore nett though if it can really big jumps on Saturday and Sunday it could go a little higher.
