It was the crucial third day for both the Republic Day week releases and Raees has managed to stay afloat but just while Kaabil is now struggling in a poor position. It was a working day after a holiday so the drop was always going to come but the hope would have been a lesser drop especially Kaabil.  Raaes is looking at business of around 13-13.50 crore nett which is around 50% drop while Kaabil is looking at around 7-7.5 crore nett which is a little more than 50%. The only precedence for this is Agneepath in 2012 which released on Thusday which was the holiday and saw a 50% drop on the next day which was a Friday like it is for Kaabil and Raees but it went up again over the weekend to do well.

Raees should have had a bit higher number which then would have enabled it to add around 40 crore nett over the weekend but that now looks a big ask. Still it has grossed around 60 crore nett over the first three days and with the weekend to come it is in a good position and it will be Monday which will decide if the film becomes a HIT or not. The film had a noticeable drop at mass centres which were very good yesterday due to the national holiday. The holds at multiplexes were better.

Kaabil looks in trouble at the box office as collections are now even lower than day one which itself was weak. The huge jump on Republic Day was a huge surprise as the reports were not suggesting that sort of jump. It did look like what happened with Shivaay which flattered on holidays but came down on other days but you can never be sure but with this Friday collection it has come down to its real level and its an uphill battle from here on. The three day collections of the film are around 31 crore nett which is 50% of Raees and it needs a mini miracle to survive and there are no holidays going forward.
