Q. How important are the television ratings for films and which is the highest?
A. They have gained huge importance today as its not just the rating on first showing but does the film get repeat showings on television and in order for that to happen it has to rate on television. Television is like what repeat runs were earlier. Huge blockbusters like Ganga Jamuna or Sangam from 60's would do around 35-40 lakhs in Delhi / UP after a years run but they would more than double this in the next 20 years showing their longevity. Now this is done by television, films released today should have have repeat screenings on television in ten years time though not many will. The top film on television is Prem Ratan Dhan Payo in the satellite television era.

Q. You have a inflation adjusted gross for Hum Hain Aapke Kaun at 685 crore but there is no way that film can do that much today as has been seen by a similar Prem Ratan Dhan Payo.
A. Its not about that. A Bajrangi Bhaijaan or PK may have a 600 crore nett inflation adjusted gross in 30 years time but that does not mean that they could actually do that much if released in 2046. What is reflected in the Hum Aapke Hain Kaun adjusted number is that if the same number of tickets sold today as they did in 94-95 then business would be its adjusted number.

Q. Can Mohenjo Daro and Rustom take a 30 or 35 crore day between then like a Sultan as together they will take up more screens?
A. Its not a holiday and both films do not look like 20 crore nett openers if released solo which will adjust down to around 15 crore nett in a clash which is what they need to get to 30 crore nett. It will probably be around 25 crore nett between then and possibly even less. One thing is sure the numbers will be pretty close with probably not more than 20-25% in it whichever way it goes.

Q. Do you give either Mohenja Daro or Rustom a chance to do 150 crore nett if fantastic word of mouth?
A. Tough as word of mouth not likely to be equally strong across the country. Also Hritik Roshan has one film over 150 crore and that was solo Diwali release and Akshay Kumar has none so 150 is probably asking too much with clash.
