Cocktail did good business in its first week as it grossed 54.50 crore nett approx. It is the first time that a multiplex targeted film has crossed the 50 crore nett mark in week one. Last year Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara had grossed around 44.50 crore and Rockstar 47.50 crore nett.

The first week business in Mumbai city, Delhi city, East Punjab and Mysore is better than all films this year apart from Agneepath and that had an eight day first week.

The eighth will see a drop due to the release of The Dark Knight Rises which has same target audience as Cocktail.
