Q. You said there can be one winner or two under performers in a clash. But Welcome and Taare Zameen Par clashed in 2007 and both were superhits. Can't the same repeat this time in Dilwale and Bajirao Mastani clash?

Ans. It was in the context of both films being equals. Here it is just one film in the form of Welcome and Taare Zameen Par not really competing initially either in terms of screens space or footfalls. If in Dilwale and Bajirao Mastaani clash one film wanted 4000 screens and the other 1000 then bot could have easily co-existed also.

Q. Ram Leela did 100 crore nett business so is it not realistic to expect 150 crore nett from Bajirao Mastaani as it looks a much bigger film

Ans.  If only box office worked like that. There is a difference of 50 between 100 and 150 which is not a small amount. The big difference is Bajirao Mastaani is not a solo release and even in terms of star pull Ram Leela was ahead as the main star Deepika Padukone was coming off Chennai Express which was a huge hit but more importantly a very popular performance. This time its Piku and Tamasha, the former is actaully a hit but hardly matters in terms of star value as just 75 lakh people watched it theatres and then flopped on television. The fate of Tamasha is even worse.

Q. Is the Indian v Asoka clash the only clash that Shahrukh Khan has lost in his career and who has lost the most clashes out of Shahrukh Khan, Aamir and Salman Khan

Ans. There have been other losses but they were before superstardom in the 92-96 period. Shahrukh Khan has lost fewer clashes than Aamir and Salman Khan.

Q. Is there a chance of Dilwale crossing the 300 crore mark?

Ans. Uou never say never but will be very tough if not impossible. When its a clash of two big films then the first objective is to come out on top preferably by a good margin and then you can aim at benchmarks and the first would be 200 crore nett as that number is hardly achieved. 300 is a long way off.
